Learning Week 2024

A zero-cost, ten-module curriculum that teaches students how AI actually works underneath — data privacy, offline edge models, prompt engineering, and verifiable digital portfolios — without collecting student data or charging licensing fees.

Questions review boards ask

Is this cryptocurrency or speculation?

No. $GETS is a non-tradable completion record issued by an IRS-verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It has no monetary value, cannot be converted to currency, and is not listed on any exchange — functionally a digital star sticker. Credentialing is optional, and the agent terminal can be demonstrated in class with no account, wallet or token of any kind.

Where does student input actually go?

We keep no student database — our AI endpoint is a stateless pass-through that writes nothing to disk. Mission 5 runs Gemma entirely on-device in the browser via WebGPU, so that work never touches a network. The other nine missions send the prompt to Google's Gemini API for processing under Google's API terms; responses are returned without being retained by us. We collect no student names or school records — only an email address for course delivery. Full breakdown:

What about the science-fiction narrative theme?

The story is a gamified frame used to sustain engagement across ten technical modules. Assessment rests entirely on the technical objectives in the table above: hallucination detection, AI ethics, source verification, edge computing, and a build capstone.

Suggested adoption path

Level 1 · no approval needed

Demonstrate the agent terminal in class

Browser-based live demo — no signup, no accounts, no wallets, no IT provisioning. Mission 5 can be run fully offline to show on-device AI working with the network disabled.

Level 2 · with consent

Full course as a club or elective

Ten email-delivered missions with optional verifiable credentialing. Requires a student email address, and parental consent for credentialing.
